A landfill levy will be introduced in Queensland next year. If this client had been paying a landfill levy, it would have cost them more than $200,000 extra to dispose of this unsuitable soil. Instead, we visited their site and turned it into AS4419 topsoil which will be reused onsite with excess materials able to be sold to a neighbouring project.
